We'll have four break-out sessions happening in parallel, Conference visitors can attend the one that lines up most closely with their own interests.
Option 1: Flanders DC - IP & Royalties
Games are complex creations with script, text, artwork, music,… and a bit of software. Without proper intellectual property protection, there is no game development. Flanders DC invited Andries Hofkens (Sirius Legal) & Caroline Merckx (Flanders DC) to guide you through a crash course on copyrights and licensing. They will also pinpoint some relevant tools, checklists and templates.
Option 2: The Future of Unity
Fabrice Lété from Unity Technologies will talk about Data-Oriented Tech Stack (DOTS) as the new core foundation of Unity. This talk will provide a tour of DOTS, and illustrate how and where developers can already use it.
Option 3: Tax Shelter & Fiscal Incentives for Game Studios
The Taxshelter for game studios in Belgium is still on the horizon, but there are already plenty of fiscal incentives in place today. Arne Ottoy (Cronos Invest) and Hendrik Putman (Mythra) will tell you all about it!
Option 4: Storytelling
This workshop is organised by VAF and is limited to members of the Game Writers Club. Susan O'Connor will give feedback on scripts that you can send her in advance. If you're not yet a member of the Game Writers Club but are interested, please reach out to Youri Loedts.
