Belgian Game Spotlight - Shredders
Welcome to a new Belgian Game Spotlight! Last month we were huddled inside our dark rooms, typing away and hacking the intranets in Midnight Protocol. But now we're stepping outside into the sunlight and strapping on our snowboots because we're hitting the slopes in Shredders.
Shredders is a love letter to snowboarding. It takes inspiration from a whole bunch of awesome snowboarding films, the Amped games and the many snowboarding heroes on Instagram. This Belgian + Swedish team-up is a project fed by passion and built to shine!
Who's behind it? None less than the folks at I-Illusions (from Space Pirate Trainer fame) but they're publishing this game under the wings of Foampunch, a fresh new publisher they created together with their Swedish friends from Let It Roll.

In Shredders you’ll break into the snowboarding event of the year to pull off one of the most insane tricks imaginable, all for the hope of scoring a wildcard entry to an exclusive invitational. To prove you’re up to the challenge, master the art of park riding, backcountry, rails and massive kickers and earn your place in the world of snowboarding.
Shredders has powder so fresh you’ll lose yourself for hours carving down mountains. Tweak your grabs, bend your board, and
butter like the very best. With the help of world-class pro-riders soon to be announced, go beyond the boundaries of what was thought possible.
It's is full of hand sculpted parks, urban environments and off-piste adventures. An open-world just waiting to be shredded. Almost every other rider you see on the mountain is a real rider playing right there with you. Compete, shred together with friends, or take on a journey of your own.
MAKING HEADLINES
The game is catching a few headlines recently, mostly because they were part of the Xbox + Bethesda showcase and with the announcement that Shredders is coming first to Xbox Series X|S in December. They also had a nice surprise for Xbox Game Pass subscribers as the game will be available to play on day one.
But that's not all, as some of you may know, the Belgian Game Awards are in full swing again and wouldn't you know it, Shredders got nominated for the Most Anticipated Game of the Year Award. Will they carve their way to the top spot or will the jury decide otherwise? You'll find out on October 1st!
